Description
Triggered by the Corona pandemic, drastic consequences occurred around the world, including not only the impact on health and the associated restrictions, but also the consequences for the global economy. In addition, the Ukraine war represents another drastic event that is having a significant impact on the global economy due to the harsh sanctions imposed on Russia.
For example, the Corona pandemic and the Ukraine war have shaken global supply chains, further exacerbated the shortage of skilled labor, and influenced energy and interest rate policies, which in turn led to high inflation rates. These aspects pose immense challenges to companies, as they are not only affected by them operationally, but also have an impact on their accounting and furthermore the audit of their financial statements.
The seminar will therefore examine the impact of various macroeconomic factors on corporate accounting and auditing. The written papers will serve as preparation for potential final papers. The presentations of the papers will take place in cooperation with a practice partner, the accounting/tax consulting firm Husemann & Partner.
